As you probably know, by now, that Cricket World Cup 2015 is starting formally this month. First match is to be played between New Zealand and Sri Lanka on 14 of February, a romantic start to the event indeed! I wonder if ICC deliberately chose this date (feeling suspicious).
Anyways, as a Pakistan Cricket Fan my main concern is with the most important match of the event that is to be played between Pakistan and India on 15th of Feb. God Help Us All! (goes to Janamaz praying for Pakistan team to win).
Pakistan and India's cricket romance goes way back to... I don't remember, perhaps before I was born. Ab ki bar dekhey ge!
Looking at Pakistan Team line up, the first person to come to mind is Afridi. And why not. The kind of entertainment he provides during the match
Now where does Ahmed Shehzad come into the picture
Umar Akmal has yet to prove his worth, again. His debut in International Cricket was memorable. ODI century in first match against Sri Lanka is not 'Khala Ji Ka Ghar'. After that we really don't know what happened to him as he continuously disappointed his fans and selectors. Everyone is not as lucky as Afridi is.
Oh I almost forgot about the skipper Misbah. OK... I won't talk about him more lest you guys refuse to read my post at all.
The rest of the team is pretty young except the 1000 years experienced Younis Khan. His world cup performance is average. I pray to God he helps Pakistan in winning this World Cup as he did during the T20 which would have been impossible without his leading role.
I especially thank God, Shoaib Malik is not selected in the playing squad. His performance has been in an inverse relation to his relationship with Sania Bhabi.
Sarfaraz, Irfan, Half of Mohammed Hafiz (just a batsman), Haris Sohail, Sohaib Maqsood (Inzi 2.0) the chances seem pretty slim. But they were slim in the T20 we won. They were slim in 1992. Weren't they?
And let's not forget, we are Pakistanis. No matter how worse the situation is, we hope and pray for the best
Bring back the Cup Lala!
